@DjinnJuggler Just exactly how much mass production do you think was going on 500 years ago when this tradition started? You can melt iron with charcoal and a hole in the ground. They are using a coppola. It’s just a cylinder made of clay with a hole at the bottom. Stuff it with charcoal and iron pieces and you get molten iron. All that is much cheaper than fireworks.

@G9PitBull Well if you think about it, metling iron takes.. A huge graphite/clay graphite crucible, a WHOLE lot of coal(or charcoal maybe), probably a blast fan.. And fireworks are really really cheap to make, because of mass production.
Why would iron be cheaper?
